A little bit about me....

Hello. My name is Amita. My counselling qualification comes from graduating with a Clinical Diploma/BSc (Hons) Humanistic Counselling degree at the prestigious Metanoia Institute in London. The three modalities that make up the Humanistic training are Person Centred (PC), Transactional Analysis (TA) and Gestalt. However, I can also incorporate the tools of CBT and Solution Focussed Therapy where appropriate.

The combination of my extensive training and choosing a BACP recognised course ensures I have established solid groundwork to build upon. I am continually supplementing this core learning through experience, regular CPD and group work.

Underneath my therapeutic qualification is me – a person with feelings and emotions. I have always been fascinated by human beings, and what drives and motivates us. I have long been curious to understand what makes us think, act, feel and behave in differing ways. More specifically, why we continue to react and respond in ways that are detrimental to our well-being.

I recognise how personal one’s phenomenological experience is and why you cannot be pigeon-holed into a specific category or expect a particular type of therapy to get to the root cause of your discomfort. My practice has the flexibility and fluidity to work with you, for you.
